Is it good to learn your Masters from Latvia?

Republic of Latvia, most commonly known Latvia is a country situated in Northern Europe. Latvia is considered to be one of the Baltic States. It has a temperate climate either described as humid continental or oceanic. Latvia is a multicultural country with a majority of Russians due to its soviet history.  Riga is the capital of Latvia is one of the biggest city in the Baltic region. Some of the famous things about Latvia is the Arena Riga where ice hockey championships happen, Riga marathon where many sports events take place and Riga Art Nouveau where modern and ancient architectural passes happen.

In Latvia, there are different types of institutions, which are aided or self-financed. Students with good scores can avail scholarships and public grants. Latvia offers education to students as well as lay people who want to pursue professional careers like banking, legal advisors, pilots and so on.

They have two types of teaching institutions, college type and non-college type. College is for students who want to pursue their masters and non-college is for lay people have college and non-college type of teaching. Higher education is Latvia is categorised into three levels. They are the Bachelors, the Masters and the Doctorates. Duration is taken as three years, two years and four years respectively. Having a master’s degree can help graduates choose their doctoral studies. It can lead up to duration of three to four years.  Medical studies and programs in the aviation industry are the most common study options in the country chosen by international students.

There are multiple living accommodations for students such as the college dormitories, hotels, country houses, youth hostels and motels. If one wants to buy a house or take a flat or house on rent, prices start at 130 EUR to 600 EUR per month. It is obligatory in Riga to take a medical/ health insurance for local students, whereas international students must take both health/medical insurance and life insurance.

There are no special cuisines or popular foods in Latvia but German and Italian foods are prevalent here by bringing in the system of all-you-can-eat. Latvia has a minimal population but despite that, the locals are welcoming and friendly. They help tourists or students coming from some other countries to get to their destination quickly. Railways and horse carriages are common means of transport here in Latvia.

Riga is the capital of Latvia which a peaceful and colourful city. One can travel and explore by walking or bicycling to get to know their way around and become familiar with common places like the park, the church, the railway station, bus station and so on. Food is Latvia is of great quality and it is cheap at the same time. Having just a population of two million, Latvia has around 59 universities and colleges. Universities teach the students mostly in English and Russian with a few language programmes such as German and Scandinavian. These programs cover a wide range of subjects from architecture to law to social sciences.
